วันที่ 22 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2567 เวลา 10.30 น. รศ.ดร.พันธ์ ทองชุมนุม รองอธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตภูเก็ต เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดศูนย์พัฒนาการเรียนรู้ด้านอีสปอร์ต เพื่อความเป็นเลิศและขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจ ในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ สาขาภูเก็ต (PSU Esports Studio - Phuket) โดยมี รศ.ดร.อซีส นันทอมรพงศ์ คณบดีวิทยาลัยการคอมพิวเตอร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตภูเก็ต, ผศ.ดร.ณัฐพงศ์ ทองเทพ รองคณบดีฝ่ายกิจการพิเศษและวิเทศสัมพันธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตภูเก็ต, คุณประชา อัศวธีระ ผู้อำนวยการเขตพื้นที่ภาคใต้ สำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล (สาขาภาคใต้ตอนบน), คุณภัทรวุฒิ อริสรกุลธร ผู้แทนสำนักงานการกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทยจังหวัดภูเก็ต, คุณวิชญ์ แสวงวิทย์ ผู้แทนชมรมกีฬาอีสปอร์ตจังหวัดภูเก็ต, คุณชัยรัตน์ ศรีลาวรรณ ผู้แทนจากโรงเรียนในเครือขจรเกียรติ, คุณวายุธร ชูจบ Marketing Branch Head ศูนย์การค้าโรบินสันไลฟ์สไตล์ถลาง และฉลอง จังหวัดภูเก็ต, ผศ.ดร.ฐิตินันท์ เกลี้ยงสุวรรณ อาจารย์ผู้ฝึกสอนรายวิชาอีสปอร์ต, คุณชนะชัย สิริพันธ์วราภรณ์ ผู้จัดการโครงการศูนย์พัฒนาการเรียนรู้ด้านอีสปอร์ตเพื่อความเป็นเลิศและขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ จังหวัดภูเก็ต ตลอดจนเจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วมพิธี

วัตถุประสงค์ของการเปิดศูนย์ฯ เพื่อผลักดันและสนับสนุนกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนด้านอีสปอร์ต ในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ตอนบน โดยมีศูนย์กลางที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต เนื่องจากภูเก็ตมีความเป็นนานาชาติสูง ด้วยลักษณะเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวระดับโลกที่ดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวและผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากหลากหลายประเทศ ภูเก็ตจึงเหมาะสมที่จะเป็นศูนย์กลางการพัฒนาอีสปอร์ต

ศูนย์ฯ ได้วางแผนสร้างความร่วมมือกับทั้งหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชน เพื่อพัฒนานักศึกษาให้มีทักษะที่สอดคล้องกับความต้องการในอุตสาหกรรมอีสปอร์ต อาทิ สตรีมเมอร์ นักพากย์เกม ผู้จัดการแข่งขันอีสปอร์ต และนักกีฬาอีสปอร์ตมืออาชีพ

ภายในงานยังได้จัดโซนกิจกรรมที่หลากหลายให้ผู้เข้าร่วมได้สัมผัสประสบการณ์อย่างเต็มรูปแบบ เช่น โซนความเป็นจริงเสมือน (VR), โซนจำลองการขับรถสมจริง (Cockpit) และสถานีเกมยอดนิยมอย่าง PlayStation 5 และ Nintendo Switch

พิธีเปิดศูนย์ฯ จัดขึ้น ณ ศูนย์พัฒนาการเรียนรู้ด้านอีสปอร์ต เพื่อความเป็นเลิศและขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจ ในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ สาขาภูเก็ต มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตภูเก็ต

Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, Launches PSU Esports Studio for Esports Learning Development for Excellence and Economic Advancement in Southern Thailand

On November 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM, Associate Professor Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President of Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, presided over the opening ceremony of the PSU Esports Studio - Phuket: Studio for Esports Learning Development for Excellence and Economic Advancement in Southern Thailand. The event was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Aziz Nanthaamornphong, Dean of the College of Computing, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus; Assistant Professor Dr. Nattapong Tongtep, Associate Dean for Special Affairs and International Relations; Mr. Pracha Asawateera, Vice President Southern District for Digital Economy Promotion Agency of Thailand;

Mr. Pattarawut Arisarakulthorn, Representative of the Sports Authority of Thailand (Phuket); Mr. Wich Savangwit, Representative of the Phuket Esports Club; Mr. Chairat Srilawan, Representative of the Kajonkietsuksa School; Mr. Wayudhorn Choojob, Marketing Branch Head of Robinson Lifestyle Thalang and Chalong, Phuket; Associate Professor Dr. Thitinan Kliangsuwan, Esports Lecturer and Coach; and Mr. Chanachai Siriphunwaraphon, PSU Esports Studio Manager, along with other relevant officials.

The studio aims to promote and support esports education and activities in the upper southern region, focusing on Phuket as the hub. With its highly international character as a world-class tourist destination, Phuket attracts visitors and professionals from various countries, making it an ideal location for esports development.

The studio plans to collaborate with both public and private organizations to equip students with skills that meet the demands of the esports industry, such as game streaming, shout casting, tournament organizing, and professional esports competitions.

The event featured diverse activity zones where attendees could immerse themselves in unique experiences, including a Virtual Reality (VR) Zone, a Cockpit Zone, and stations for popular gaming platforms like PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

The opening ceremony took place at the PSU Esports Studio - Phuket: Studio for Esports Learning Development for Excellence and Economic Advancement in Southern Thailand, located at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus.
